We believe that contemporary architecture is an important vessel for local history and a testament to Polish culture.
With a foreign audience in mind, we have created a promotional folder titled Mapping Identities. Contemporary Polish Architecture in Context, based on previous Polish editions of the A Mosaic of Local Identities map. Organised by provinces and regions, the folder is supplemented with statements from local experts and representatives of local institutions.
The map presents the diversity and scale of the transformation that Poland has undergone since the 1990s. A Mosaic of Local Identities is an open collection that continues to evolve over time. Two editions of the printed map have been published so far.
The digital edition of the map (in Polish) can be downloaded free of charge from the Institute’s official website, while the printed edition is available at partner institutions and organisations, as well as during NIAiU events.
Based on the map, we organise architecture walks with designers, showcasing selected projects and places.
